Being a member of an NHS foundation trust means that you can have a say, through your elected governors, in shaping future services and strategic planning.
You decide how involved you want to be – you may simply want to receive information about the Trust’s activities or you may want to stand for election to the Council of Governors, which works with the Board of Directors.
Complete this form if you would like to apply to become a member of the Trust.
Governors provide an “ear and a voice” for members, ensuring that their views are heard and that their opinions on the future delivery and development of services influence the Board of Directors’ decisions.
As outlined in our Constitution, our Council of Governors has 28 elected and nominated governors:
- 16 governors who are elected from and by the public (public members)
- 5 governors who are elected from and by our staff (staff members)
- 7 governors are appointed
You can contact the governor for your area regarding any issues you would like to discuss by telephoning the Corporate Governance team on 01253 951505.
