Baby Nellie goes ho ho home for Christmas

Meet Nellie who was born prematurely at the end of November at just 33 weeks but in a few weeks has made great progress and is now leaving the unit just in time for Christmas.

Nellie’s parents, Charlotte and Ryan Holmes are thrilled that Nellie will soon join siblings Finley, Oscar and Hattie for her first Christmas.

Charlotte said “I really want to say a huge thank you to all the staff, they have all been brilliant, they have looked after me as well as Nellie.

"I’m not a first time Mum but this was my first time experiencing the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and I can’t thank them enough. Nellie even got to meet Santa last week and we’ve had lovely gifts such as blankets, made by the Trust’s “Knitting Nanas” group."

"I’d like to say a special thanks to the Neonatal Matron, Julie Kearney for the fundraising she did to arrange the Neonatal unit Santa’s grotto, it was really special”.
