A local family, including an Emergency Department (ED) Assistant at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, is supporting their local NHS charity with a special fundraising event.

Molly Smith, who has been part of the ED team at the hospital for just over a year, is organising a fundraising event at The Warterloo Music Bar, Blackpool with the help of her dad.

The event, which takes place on Friday, 14 March from 7.30pm is being held to raise money through the hospital’s official charity Blue Skies, dedicated to enhancing patient care.

The event dubbed ‘the doctors and nurses night’ aims to raise £1,200 to support purchasing new replacement training prosthetic aids to boost skills across the team including new students who complete placements within the department.

“Any money raised will go towards cannulation skins, choking vests, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line), all of which will improve patient care.”

Molly and her dad, local musician ‘Rupert Fabulous,’ both have a passion for music and, combined with wanting to give something back, started plans to host a musical event.

Providing the entertainment for the night is Rupert Fabulous himself, who will be supported by Mike Rolland and Joanna Byrne. The night will also host a raffle where local businesses have generously donated prizes, donut wall and unlimited chocolate and strawberries.
