Clifton Hospital League of Friends is holding a Christmas fair to raise funds for their work supporting patients and staff.

The Friends have given nearly £10,000 over the past 18 months to fund daily newspapers for the wards, a party to mark the King’s coronation in May, furniture for the hospital garden, Christmas lights and track suits for patients when they’re moving between wards or out of hospital.

Chair Linda Beddows said the money raised from the fair will help fund next year’s activities. The Friends were also looking for donations of raffle and tombola prizes. They can be left at reception or in the donation boxes on the wards.

Linda added: “We’re wholly reliant on the kindness and goodwill of wellwishers and the fair is fantastic opportunity to show your support for your local hospital."

The fair opens at 10.30am at Clifton Hospital on Saturday 25 November and will run until 3pm.

“We’re always on the look-out for sponsors too. For example, we need a shed and storage for our garden furniture," said Linda.

“Clifton is our community hospital so, if you would like to give something back, volunteering is also a great way to show your support. We can customise volunteering roles to people’s strengths and availability – some people like working behind the scenes, as it were, rather than being ‘front of house’.”
