Earlier this month our Practice Education team held their first career progression event which saw more than 50 learners and colleagues attending, ranging from clinical and non-clinical. This event provided them with the opportunity to discuss future career pathways and development.

On the day there were sessions to support those who wished to prepare for a future application.

These sessions covered:

  •  interview technique
  • personal statement writing
  • mock interviews
  • revalidation
  • career conversations

The event was supported with representation from:

  • Integrated Medicine and Emergency Care
  • Community
  • The Apprenticeship and Widening Participation team
  • Midwifery
  • Operating Department/Theatres
  • Pathology
  • Paediatrics
  • Tertiary Division
  • Simulation and Skills

The team said "It was a brilliant opportunity for us to offer the first event of its kind and to gather feedback to support future events. Thank you to those who attended and to colleagues who supported the event."

We are pleased to announce that we are holding a Careers Open Day Saturday, 23 November from 10am to 2pm for members of our local community and current colleagues.

Join us in the Education Centre at our Blackpool Victoria Hospital site to learn more about the different job roles and careers that are available at the Trust.

Visitors will be able to speak to a variety of staff representing their professional areas and ask any questions they may have about the different job roles available and what it’s like to work at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

To learn more about the event please contact the Apprenticeship and Widening Participation Team at bfwh.apprenticeandworkexperience@nhs.net.
