Living and breathing the Trust’s values won Mortuary and Bereavement Services Manager Carla McCaffrey the Caring, Safe and Respectful Award at this year’s Celebrating Success Awards – the Trust’s annual staff recognition event.
The judges were looking for someone who is inspirational, acts as a role model to others and shows commitment and dedication to patient care.
Presenting the award, Chief Operating Officer Janet Barnsley said: “I can’t think of anyone more deserving. Thank you for everything that you do, even though the ones you care for are passed, you treat them like every other patient with compassion. I am personally very proud of what you do.”
Carla said: “I love my job. I’ve worked for the Trust for nearly 20 years now and it’s thanks to the amazing teams I have around me that makes this such a rewarding role. Working together with the coroner’s office, mortuary team and bereavement services, we provide caring, safe and respectful care to all our patients.”
The runners up for the award were Elizabeth Chesser, Sister on Ward 11, and Emma Durant, Community Matron for Care Home Team, Enhanced Primary Care.
More than 400 nominations were received for the Celebrating Success 2024 overall.
