The TruNew stop smoking signage group photo.jpgst has launched new smokefree signage across our Blackpool Victoria and Clifton Hospital sites. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to creating a healthier environment for our patients, colleagues and visitors.

The signage unveiling coincided with the start of ‘Stoptober’ and the team was joined by our Chief Executive, Maggie Oldham, and Councillor Jo Farrell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Wellbeing at Blackpool Council, along with key partners from Lancashire and South Cumbria’s Integrated Care Board.

The carefully drafted design was created with the local demographics in mind, reflecting Blackpool's geography through the Trust's branding.

Rachel Bamber, Service Lead for the Trust’s Acute Tobacco Dependence Team said, “We are delighted at the presentation of the signage, and we hope it delivers a supportive and positive message whilst reminding all that we are a smokefree site. Our senior management team have been instrumental in driving this project, with the goal of supporting the wellbeing of all who use our services. The smokefree initiative aligns with the Trust’s broader commitment to encourage healthier lifestyles and reduce smoking-related illnesses, benefitting both patients and the wider community."

Shane Faulkner, Service Manager for Specialist Medicine Services, and the Trust’s Smokefree Programme Manager said, “We encourage all colleagues to take pride in this new signage and continue advocating for a smokefree future. Let’s work together to create a healthier NHS! We are Smokefree Blackpool, and we are specialists in supporting people on their journey to a smokefree future.
