Work at Blackpool Victoria Hospital will mean a stretch of Whinney Heys Road used as an access to the Blackpool Victoria Hospital site will be closed for two weeks.
Part of the road, running past the Gastroenterology department, around the Cardiac Centre, past the Women and Children's unit and to the roundabout outside the exit to the Main Entrance multi-storey car park, will be closed during this time.
The closure will begin at midnight on Sunday, 2 June and last until 8am on Monday, 17 June.
Access will be maintained to the Gastroenterology department and Cardiac Centre only. There will be no through road to the rest of the hospital site. This includes access to the Women and Children’s unit, main entrance, multi-storey car park and staff car parks.
During the two weeks drivers will no longer be able to turn right off East Park Drive onto Whinney Heys Road to access much of the hospital site. Access to the hospital site will instead be via Whinney Heys Road past the Emergency Department entrance.
Signage reminding drivers of the work will be displayed at key points on the road. Safe pedestrian access routes will be established and maintained during the work.
