Looking after a child who has just received immunisation
Your child has been given a TETANUS, DIPTHERIA, POLIO (*and WHOOPING
COUGH) BOOSTER Injection and will therefore not need to have their scheduled
*pre-school / *school leaving dose.
Local reactions, such as pain, redness and swelling round the injection site may
sometimes occur and persist for several days – Paracetamol as advised may help.
Other uncommon reactions may include headache, lethargy (tiredness), nausea,
muscle pain and temperature.
If you require any further advice or reactions persist contact your G.P.                                                                * Delete as necessary
