What you should know about glue
The glue is a special medical ‘glue’ designed to treat cuts and keep the wound dry for five days.
If you are worried about the wound come back and let a Nurse or Doctor look at it.
A scab will form on the wound which will go away once you start washing the area within 10-17 days. Do not pick!
There is a small chance the wound will open. Don’t worry, come back and we will re-glue it (or stitch it).
The scar will take approximately six months to fade.
If the wound is in your hair do not wash before 24 hours
- Remove when instructed.
- Keep clean and dry.
- Remove by peeling both ends after soaking in water for 10 minutes.
- And lift clear over the wound.
(We will provide you with a staple remover to take with you to the GP.)
If you require a change of dressing please contact your Practice Nurse.
Keep the dressing and area around the wound clean and dry.
