The death of a family member or close friend can be one of the most devastating experiences to go through in life. It is frequently identified as one of the most significant sources of stress to befall a person.
The loss of someone we love is very individual to us and the relationship we had with the person who’s died. This means there’s no set time during which grief fades away and "normal" life resumes. And, sadly, there are no short-cuts with grief. It takes as long as it takes.
The SWAN Suite
Our chaplains understand this, and, while we don’t claim to have all the answers, we offer bereaved families the opportunity to work through some of the distressing thoughts and emotions which follow the death of a loved one.
You don’t have to be alone or struggle by yourself. Our chaplains are ready to offer a confidential and supportive environment in which to talk.
We also work closely with the hospital’s bereavement hub, the SWAN Suite, which offers another source of support.
