Our team is dedicated to promoting the health and wellbeing of children with continence issues.
We provide specialist clinical advice and care to children and young people with bladder and bowel continence problems. The team provides nurse led clinics for patients from diagnosis, through treatment and follow up at a level 2 standard of care.
Patients will be seen by the relevant team members for initial assessments to ascertain what provision is needed. We as a team support children, young people and families with constipation, day and night time wetting and delayed toilet training.

Level One assessments
A Level 1 assessment involves the first stage of helping to identify any bladder and bowel problems, ruling out constipation or a urinary tract infection, then signposting to the GP for assessment and/or treatment.
We know that 95 per-cent of continence problems are caused by constipation so it’s important this is identified and treated effectively.
First line advice is offered around good drinking, a healthy diet, toileting routines all important factors in promoting a healthy bladder and bowel, preventing continence problems from developing.
