Finding out your child has, or might have, a hearing loss can be an emotional time and you may be feeling overwhelmed with information about hearing tests and what happens next.
The National Deaf Children's Society website features lots of information that will give you a greater understanding of the different tests your child may be offered. It explains:
- the different types and levels of deafness
- the different tests that can check a child’s hearing
- about the ear and how it works
- what audiograms are (a chart showing your child’s hearing test results)
- the different medical tests or investigations that are used to help diagnose the cause of permanent deafness
