We offer a Monday to Friday service 8am to 6pm.
We encourage patients to leave a message if they have any query relating to their disease and treatment or management or if they need a stoma review.

- Bleeding persistently from stoma
- New swelling of the stoma
- Ulceration on stoma
- Change in stoma colour from usual
- Prolapse – increased length of stoma
- Trauma / injury to stoma
- Continuous diarrhoea for more than three days (colostomy)
- Change from usual bowel function pattern (colostomy)
- No output for 4-6 hours together with abdominal pain / nausea (ileostomy)
- Liquid output and increased volume of more than 1000mls in 24 hours (ileostomy)
- Blood in urine or no urine (urostomy)
- Very dry or wet skin which stops bag sticking
- Scaly, irritated itchy skin or rashes
- Weeping, smelly discharge or pus from skin
- Lumps or bumps or bleeding from the skin
- Ulceration on the skin
- Pain or discomfort to the skin
- New bulge or lump around the stoma (hernia)
- Appliance not sticking to the skin properly
Also if you:
- Are new to the area
- Are admitted to hospital with a stoma-related problem
- Have a change of stoma prescription needs
- Are unable to care independently for stoma
- Need advice on stoma management / function
- Need advice around long term / existing skin problems
- Have change in colour of urine (urostomy)
