The Macmillan Information and Support team are a team of seven who are based at the Macmillan Windmill Unit at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Role: Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Manager
About: Helen has taken over as manager for the Cancer Information and Support Service. She previously worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Urology for Blackpool Victoria Hospital. She also has Practice Nursing and District Nursing experience.
Role: Macmillan Information and Support Centre Officer
About: Julie joined the Macmillan Team as a Community Support Worker in November 2018. Her previous roles have been a Medical Secretary in Maxillofacial, Haematology and Palliative Care and an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Stroke Medicine.
Julie enjoys her varied role especially supporting patients and their families in their own homes and working alongside the rest of the Macmillan Team to provide better care and support for anyone affected by cancer. Julie is also our link lead for LGBT.
Julie has completed two HOPE courses in 2022 for patients who have completed treatment, are in remission and just need that wrap-around support to build up their confidence again. She is also our link lead for LGBT and we're now holding LGFB sessions once a month which is a very uplifting session and is always much appreciated.
Role: Macmillan Community Cancer Care Support Worker, Blackpool
About: Nicola started with the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Team in October 2018, having previously worked as a Health Care Assistant in Haematology and Oncology, both on the Day Units and in clinics. She enjoys the variety of the role as a support worker and being able to support patients and their families in their own homes.
Role: Macmillan Community Support Worker (Lytham St Anne's)
About: Karen is a Community Support Worker for Lytham St Anne’s. Karen works closely with GPs, social prescribers and all health care professionals to support anyone affected by cancer with practical and emotional support. She brings with her a wealth of experiences to support your needs and circumstances. Karen is also our End of Life link lead.
Role: Macmillan Community Support Worker (Fleetwood)
About: Vicky is a Community Support Worker for the Fleetwood district. She brings with her a wealth of experiences to support your needs and circumstances. Victoria also has experience working with people with disabilities and is the link lead for our centre.
Role: Macmillan Information & Support Centre Admin Assistant
About: Sasha is the Macmillan Information & Support Centre Admin Assistant at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Sasha is here to take all your calls and will keep you updated with all things Macmillan via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Role: Macmillan Information & Support Centre Assistant
About: Kelly has worked in a variety of roles and brings a huge wealth of experience to the team. Kelly recently joined the Macmillan team after working in the Oncology Unit at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You'll meet Kelly in the unit and also on the hospital's wards or Oncology day unit, where she supports with any emotional or practical needs you may be experiencing.
Kelly also has experience in working with dementia and is the Link Dementia Lead for our centre.
