The Trust is committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of service users, staff, and visitors and to providing a healthy environment for staff to work in. The Trust seeks to promote positive health measures through health education, prevention, and protection.
Smoking or vaping is not allowed on any of our trust’s hospital sites. This is to protect the health of patients, visitors, and staff from second hand smoke exposure as well as reducing the risk of fire.
We recognise that smoking is a chronic, relapsing condition and not a lifestyle choice and support is available to you throughout your hospital stay.
Research shows that most people who come into hospital who smoke, want to stop however we understand that not everyone is ready to stop completely.
Whilst you are in hospital, we can provide nicotine replacement therapy treatment as well as provide support from a Tobacco Dependence Specialist to make sure any withdrawals or cravings are being managed.
Stopping smoking is one of the best things you can do to improve your physical and mental health and wellbeing. If you feel that now is the right time to stop smoking for good then we can help you.
